Combination therapy of Blood Cancers using Emulsion Vaccines and Metronomic Chemotherapy

Bloods cancers are cancers arising from the progenitors of white blood cells in the bone marrow. Chemotherapy is the conventional treatment for many types of blood cancers and are often quite effective in driving cancer into remission. However, patients are still highly prone to relapse and the development of refractory cancers after chemotherapy. Therefore, there is a need to derive new therapeutic immunotherapies for blood cancers.

An emulsion vaccine have been developed to target DCs for the induction of the adaptive immune response. Combined with metronomic chemotherapy, this vaccine will be able to drive tumour-specific responses against blood cancers and prevent the relapse of disease.
