MR Spectroscopy in women with or at high risk of deveoping breast cancer
Dr Khoo is currently working on a project that uses Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy to detect early biochemical changes in the breast tissue of women who are at high risk of breast cancer - to help inform decisions on how to manage their risk. For more information on this project, see 'Detecting early biochemical changes in breast tissue of women at high risk of breast cancer'. This research is being undertaken at the TRI Innovation and Translation Centre in Collaboration with Siemens Healthineers, which features an advanced suite of clinical imaging facilities to assist with clinical studies.
About me
Dr Jeremy Khoo has joined the TRI and Princess Alexandra Hospital as a Breast Cancer Clinical and Research Fellow.
In this role, Dr Khoo will work closely with researchers and clinicians at TRI to study the applications of magnetic resonance spectroscopy in women with or at high risk of developing breast cancer.
With a background in general surgery across various hospitals and medical centres in Melbourne, Dr Khoo has a special interest in breast and endocrine surgery.
Dr Khoo joins TRI after completing his Surgical Residency at Monash Health in 2018 and obtaining his Fellowship in General Surgery from the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons.
He has previously gained experience as an anatomy demonstrator and Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) examiner at Monash University, and has volunteered for the Vertically Enhanced Study Program Approach (VESPA) and the MBBS Student Mentorship Program at Monash University, as well teaching English in the South East Asian Leadership Network (SEALNet) program.
