Want to improve your writing skills?

If your answer is yes, please come along to the final Writing workshop! Facilitated by Karyn Gonano, an expert communications coach who helps people to really finesse their writing and writing processes (including planning, writing, and self-reviewing), in ways that can dramatically improve the final document. Karyn’s passion is to share strategies that enable people to communicate more effectively, in both the written and spoken form. Karyn specialises in training academics in their publication and grant writing skills.

This hands-on workshop will give you the chance to discover:
- Your personal writing style
- How to structure your story; beginning, middle and end
- How to overcome writer’s block
- How to establish principles of good writing
- Effective editing and feedback processes
- Developing intellectual and critical thinking
- Key pedagogy for learning to write critically

Bring along 1-2 pages of your writing (thesis, article, abstract, grant) and have the opportunity to have an expert – and a room full of your supportive and insightful peers – to provide constructive feedback on your writing.

The Writing Workshop is an initiative brought to TRI by the Education and Training Committee.

This free workshop is open to all building occupants to attend!
