China's Torch Delegation has been visiting Queensland this week and toured TRI where they were shown the Clinical Trial facilities at the Princess Alexandra Hospital as well as the TRI building- showcasing TRI's facilities and collaborative model.

Torch is the Chinese Government's high-tech industry development program for entrepreneurs and high-tech innovation start-ups.

While here, the Torch delegation also signed an MOU with the Queensland Government aimed at increasing collaboration in the health sector.

The delegation, of over twenty participants, also were involved in the Queensland-China Health Innovation Forum, held at TRI on 4 April.

Special guests at the forum included the Chief Scientist Dr Christine Williams, Director General of the Department of Environment and Science Jamie Merick, Director General of Health Michael Walsh, and Vice Chancellor and President of QUT Margaret Shiel were in attendance along with Queenslands leading medical researchers.
