Finalists Announced for Women in Tech Awards 2019

Numerous TRI-based researchers have been shortlisted as finalists for the 2019 Women in Technology (WiT) Awards, in recognition of their contributions and achievements to technology and life sciences in Queensland.

Each year, the Women in Technnology (WiT) Awards celebrate Queensland Women in Technology who have made a significant contribution to Queensland technology industries.

As an organisation which brings together women from all disciplines of science and technology together in a single, inclusive community, Women in Technology is dedicated to driving change for women in technology and sciences. 

This year, over 150 applications were received across 12 categories, and the calibre of women nominated for awards is of the highest quality.

Congratulations to the following TRI-based researchers, who have been shortlisted as finalists in the 22nd Annual WiT Awards:

  • Aideen McInerney-Leo (UQ) – Life Sciences Rising Star Award
  • Antje Blumenthal (UQ-DI) - Life Sciences Research Leader Award
  • Camille Guillerey (Mater Research) – Life Sciences Rising Star Award
  • Chamindie Punyadeera (QUT) - Life Sciences Research Leader Award
  • Jyotsna Batra (QUT) - Life Sciences Research Leader Award
  • Vicki Clifton  (Mater-UQ)-  Life Sciences Outstanding Achievement Award
