TRI Foundation Travel Sponsorship Awards for 10 of the best and brightest

TRI-based students and early-career researchers are off to a flying start, with support to travel nationally and internationally for activities that facilitate career development.

Ten of the best and brightest have received 2023 TRI Foundation Travel Sponsorship Awards
so they can attend or present at conferences, network, and visit other research institutes.

TRI Foundation Board Chair, Emeritus Professor Ian Frazer, has announced the following
winners:

  • Leslie Dominguez (UQ), for travel to an immunity workshop in Italy
  • Cheng Foo (Mater Research), for travel to an inflammation conference in Canada
  • Clara Heider (UQ), for travel to a immunology conference in Switzerland
  • Dr Lia Kim (UQ), for travel to a molecular biology conference in Korea
  • Dr Mohanan Maharaj (QUT), to attend the global BIO convention in the United States
  • Eamonn McKenna (QUT), for a cellular and molecular bioengineering conference in Puerto Rico
  • Ana Maria Romero (UQ), to visit the Institute of Cancer Research in England and establish collaborative links
  • Haressh Sajiir (Mater Research), to attend a liver disease symposium in Canada
  • Dr Tom Schultz (UQ), for travel to an infection and immunity meeting in Victoria
  • Bhadra Varma (UQ), for travel to a molecular biology conference in India
