Australian Academy of Science Honorific Award Nominations Open

The Australian Academy of Science are calling for nominations for their 2019 honorific awards. You can nomiate or encourage someone to nominate in earth sciences, biology, physics, mathematics, chemistry, experimental biomedicine, genetics and more.

Career, mid-career and early-career stages can nominate, with various categories available in each. 

 
Career Awards: Nominations from Fellows of the Australian Academy of Science only
 
Mid-Career Awards: For researchers 8 to 15 years post-PhD in the calendar year of nomination
 
Early-Career Awards: For researchers no more than 10 years post-PhD in the calendar year of nomination

Recognition
Central to the purpose of the Academy is the recognition and support of outstanding contributions to the advancement of science.
 

Research funding
Awards for research in fields such as the conservation of endangered Australian vertebrate species, the history of science, population and environment, marine, soil and plant biology.
 

Conference & lecture funding
Sponsorship of research conferences that focus on rapidly developing fields.
 

Travel opportunities
The Academy support travelling fellowships for the exchange of scientific ideas, to promote Australian scientific capabilities internationally, and facilitate access to international research programs.

The closing date for honorific award nominations is 1 May 2018 and the closing date to apply for research conferences, research awards and travelling fellowships is 1 June 2018.
