Join us on 12 and 13 October to discover and learn about Brisbane's newest Research Institute, TRI.

What does a research scientist do? What types of diseases do they investigate? Meet some of Brisbane’s leading researchers and learn about some of their projects hands-on at TRI. Look at a lab and do some ‘bench-work'. Visit TRI for a day when we open our doors to the community for the first time as part of this year's Brisbane Open House from 12 to 13 October.

Immerse yourself in the future of medical research through our exciting program incorporating dry and wet lab experiences, DNA extractions, ‘Science 101’ presentations, a Q&A with TRI architects, and a Café Scientifique on Saturday afternoon.

Hear first-hand from leaders in the medical research field including Prof Ian Frazer AC, TRI CEO and Director of Research during the daily 'Science 101' presentations.

The whole family or just junior budding scientists can take part in strawberry DNA extractions in TRI’s award winning indoor Atrium.

Register for the Café Scientifique a Q&A style event on Saturday afternoon. Enjoy light refreshments and hear from a panel of experts across science and the media.

Register for the Café Scientifique today.

About Brisbane Open House

Held annually in conjunction with World Architecture Day, selected buildings are opened for the public to allow them to discover and engage with their built environment – opening eyes and minds to functional design and the work that goes on inside these buildings.
