TRI INNOVATION & TRANSLATION IN IMAGING SUMMIT 2016
Key decision makers from government, academia, medicine and the corporate world joined over 200 leading researchers, clinicians and executives from Boston, Germany, Singapore, New Zealand, Perth, Melbourne, Sydney, Newcastle and both sides of the Brisbane River to actively participate in discussions on how to improve our ability to translate innovation in healthcare at Australia's Translational Research Institute (TRI).
This summit began on Tuesday 1 March 2016 with the official opening, by the Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk, of the TRI Innovation and Translation Centre (IAT Centre) in collaboration with Siemens Healthcare. The IAT Centre operates along the same lines as the highly productive Martinos Biomedical Imaging Centre linking Harvard Medical School, MIT and the Massachusetts General Hospital. It represents the vision outlined in both the Federal Government’s recently launched National Innovation and Science Agenda and the Queensland State Government’s Advance Queensland initiative, which has already provided significant funding.
The TRI International Innovation and Translation in Imaging Symposium was held on Wednesday 2 March 2016 featuring international researches and leaders from multinational organisations, followed by workshops on Thursday 3 March examining specific challenges in the innovation process, sharing experiences and forming ongoing relationships.
