Translational Research Institute

TRANSLATIONAL PATHWAYS WORKSHOP

This workshop is a must for all researchers based at TRI and clinician-researchers at our partner hospitals, irrespective of whether you consider yourself a die-hard "discovery" scientist or you have an interest in commercialising your research.

There are multiple pathways to translate your research knowledge into outcomes beyond the laboratory bench. In this workshop, you'll find out about those, as well as the wider ecosystem around your research which you can tap into for expertise and funding. You'll also:

  • Get an insight into how you can evaluate if your project has translational potential
  • Identify the translational value of your research
  • Start to understand the stakeholders you need to engage
  • Begin crafting your stakeholder pitch.

This workshop is primarily aimed at individual early to mid-career researchers and clinicians, but it's valuable for researchers at any stage of their career who want to understand translation and its application to their research.

This workshop is being run for TRI by Bright Arena, who have a strong track-record in working with researchers to source funding for their projects outside of NHMRC, MRFF and ARC grants.

Is this the same as my uni's research commercialisation workshop?

No, this is very different. It targets the stage before commercialisation, and it's for researchers whose projects may or may not have commercial potential. You will benefit from taking part in TRI's Translation Pathways training and coaching modules as well as attending the UniQuest or QUT research commercialisation workshops/bootcamps.
