Introduction to Flow Cytometry

This 2-hour session provides flow users with a solid understanding of what a flow cytometer is, and how it works. These sessions are held on the 1st Thursday of every month in TRI room 4000.

Concepts including particle detection, light scatter, doublet discrimination, thresholding, fluorescence, fluorophore selection, compensation, spreading error and sample preparation are discussed. An overview of the versatility of flow cytometry is presented highlighted by selected applications.

The course is compulsory for all persons wishing to use the flow core facility.
