With the appointment of Professor Carolyn Mountford as TRI CEO in March 2015, TRI is embarking on an exciting series of projects related to a main area of expertise, clinical imaging.

The Princess Alexandra Hospital has an advance suite of clinical imaging facilities, including 3T MRI-PET scanners and a 3T MRI clinical research scanner (Prisma) on order, allowing for precision whole body anatomical and metabolic imaging and image-guided biopsy.  The new MR-PET capability has provided oncology with the ability to use tracers in patients providing diagnostic accuracy from high-resolution images.

More information will be available about this research program throughout 2016 after the launch of TRI's first Innovation and Translation in Imaging Summit which was held at the TRI on the 1st to the 3rd of March.
