Store and Dock Hand

Reporting to the Store and Dock Officer, this exciting role will be responsible for the seamless receipt, dispatch and distribution of goods coming into the TRI facility and facilitate the movement of goods, laundry, waste and mail out of the facility. In this role, the appointee will work with other store and dock staff, the supply team, floor managers and various staff from TRI and the individual stakeholder institutions together with liaising with various transport/courier/freight providers.

Working in a small team, key accountabilities will include:
  • Providing quality customer duties at the deliveries service counter and in response to client inquiries
  • Ensuring trucks and other vehicles arriving and departing the dock area are inducted appropriately and that WHS policies and procedures are adhered to
  • Receiving and checking deliveries against orders and unpacking stock where required
  • Providing safe storage and handling of all goods (chemical, biological and general consumables) process through the store
  • Ensuring appropriate tagging and recording of various goods for tracking purposes
  • Collecting laundry, waste and mail from the floors for scheduled collections through back of house
To be successful in this role, you will have:
  • 2 years relevant experience in a similar role within a highly complex environment
  • Demonstrated ability to respond to the demands of a rapidly changing, highly technical, collaborative environment
  • High level of written and verbal communication skills
  • High attention to detail with efficient time management skills and the ability to meet and maintain deadlines
  • Strong service oriented ethos and commitment to supporting broader organisational objectives
